Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using OffMemory ("the App"). By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
Important notice before you begin: OffMemory encrypts everything with your password, and your password exists nowhere except in your own memory. We do not operate any server, we do not receive your password, and we cannot reset it. An encrypted backup may additionally be protected by a backup passphrase that you choose, allowing restore on a new device or after reinstalling the App; we do not store that passphrase either. If every recovery path is lost, your data is gone permanently. By using this App you acknowledge and accept this risk.
1. License
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to download and use the App on Apple devices that you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial purposes. The App is published for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac; each keeps its own separate vault, and the one-time purchase covers all four (see section 3).
2. No Sign-up Required
The App has no sign-up step: you are not asked for an email address or a phone number. All data is stored locally on your device. Because there is no sign-up step, there is no account to delete either.
3. One-Time In-App Purchase
The App is free to download, and you can create your first three notes at no cost. Unlimited writing — and all current features — are unlocked by a single one-time in-app purchase ("Unlock"), which is permanent. This is a non-consumable, non-subscription purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, and there are no recurring charges. All payment terms, refunds, and billing disputes are subject to Apple's policies. We do not receive or store your payment information.
Restoring purchases is available at any time from within the App (for example after reinstalling it on a new device) using the same Apple ID.
Because the purchase is a single non-consumable tied to your Apple ID, it unlocks the App on all four platforms — iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac — with no second charge. Your notes themselves are not shared between platforms: each device holds its own vault, so the way to get the same content onto another device is to export an encrypted backup and import it there.
After the unlock there is no cap on the number of entries you can keep — the only limit is your device's available storage. You can export your notes as an encrypted backup at any time, and import it again after reinstalling the App or on a new device.
4. Your Responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for safeguarding your unlock password, your security-question answers, and any backup passphrase you set. We cannot reset or recover any of them.
- You are responsible for maintaining backups of your notes using the App's export feature. We do not store copies of your data.
- You are responsible for keeping any exported backup file safe and for remembering the passphrase that protects it.
- You are responsible for any plain, unencrypted export you create (
.zip,.pdf,.txt,.mdor.csv). Once such a file leaves the App it is no longer protected by the App's encryption, and anyone who obtains it can read it. - If you use the optional on-device AI to summarise, continue or polish a note, you remain responsible for the result. Model output may be inaccurate or incomplete, is not professional advice, and should be reviewed before you rely on it.
- You agree not to use the App for any illegal, harmful, or unauthorized purpose.
- You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or create derivative works of the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
5. Intellectual Property
All content, design, graphics, logos, code, and other materials in the App are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any part of the App without our prior written consent. Your own diary content remains entirely yours; we neither own it nor have access to it.
6. Data and Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The App does not collect personal data. Only two things use the network: (1) the one-time purchase, handled by Apple's StoreKit; and (2) the device-to-device transfer you start manually between two of your own devices, which runs point-to-point over your local network (Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) and never through our servers.
7. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
Because your notes are encrypted and stored only on your device, you acknowledge that forgetting your password, your security answers, and any backup passphrase will result in permanent, irreversible loss of access to your data. You are also responsible for the safekeeping of any backup file you export.
Where the App offers optional on-device AI features, they are provided as writing aids only. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any generated text, and it must not be treated as medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or use, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your license to use the App at any time without notice if you violate these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the App. Upon termination, all local data remains on your device until you delete it.
10. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page and included in the next App update, with the "Last updated" date revised accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

一、许可授权
在你遵守本协议的前提下，我们授予你一项有限的、非独占的、不可转让的、不可再许可的、可撤销的许可，允许你在自己拥有或控制的 Apple 设备上下载和使用本应用，且仅用于个人、非商业目的。本应用发行于 iPhone、iPad、Apple Watch 与 Mac；四端各自一本独立的保险箱，一次买断覆盖全部四端（见第三条）。
二、无需注册
App 里没有「注册」这一步：不会向你索取邮箱地址或手机号。所有数据均保存在你的设备本地。由于没有注册这一步，因此也没有账号注销或删除流程。
三、一次性应用内购买
本应用免费下载，且你可以免费创建前三篇笔记。无限量书写及当前全部功能，由一次一次性应用内购买（"解锁"）永久解锁。该购买为不可消耗、非订阅型购买，完全由 Apple 通过 App Store 处理。它不是订阅：不会有任何续期，也没有周期性扣费。所有支付条款、退款及账单争议均适用 Apple 的相关政策。我们不会接收或存储你的支付信息。
你可以在应用内随时使用同一个 Apple ID 恢复购买（例如在新设备上重装后）。
由于它是绑定 Apple ID 的一次性非消耗型购买，因此无需二次付费即可解锁全部四端 —— iPhone、iPad、Apple Watch 与 Mac。笔记本身则不会在四端之间自动同步：每台设备各持一本自己的保险箱，若想在某台设备上得到相同内容，请导出加密备份后再导入。
解锁后，你保存的笔记篇数没有上限，唯一限制是你设备的可用空间。你可以随时把笔记导出为加密备份，并在卸载重装后或新设备上重新导入。
四、你的责任
- 你应自行妥善保管解锁密码、密保问题答案以及你设置的备份口令。我们无法重置或帮你找回其中任何一项。
- 你应使用本应用的导出功能自行备份笔记。我们不会保存你的数据副本。
- 你应妥善保管导出的备份文件，并牢记保护它的备份口令。
- 你应自行对你创建的明文导出文件（
.zip、.pdf、.txt、.md或.csv）负责。这类文件一旦离开本应用，就不再受本应用加密保护，任何拿到它的人都能直接阅读。 - 若你使用可选的端侧 AI 为笔记做摘要、续写或润色，你仍需对结果负责。模型输出可能不准确或不完整，不构成任何专业建议，采纳前请自行核对。
- 你同意不将本应用用于任何违法、有害或未经授权的目的。
- 你不得对本应用进行反向工程、反编译、反汇编、修改或创作衍生作品，除非适用法律允许。
五、知识产权
本应用中的所有内容、设计、图形、标识、代码及其他材料均归我们或我们的许可方所有，并受著作权、商标权及其他知识产权法律保护。未经我们事先书面同意，你不得复制、分发或以商业目的利用本应用的任何部分。你撰写的日记内容完全属于你自己；我们既不拥有它，也无法访问它。
六、数据与隐私
你使用本应用的行为同时受我们的隐私政策约束。本应用不收集个人数据。只有两处会用到网络：① 一次性购买，由 Apple 的 StoreKit 处理；② 你在两台设备之间手动发起的「设备间传输」，它走你自己的局域网（Wi-Fi 或蓝牙）点对点直连，不经过我们的服务器。
七、免责声明
本应用按"现状"和"现有"基础提供，不提供任何明示或暗示的担保，包括但不限于适销性、特定用途适用性或不侵权的担保。我们不保证本应用将不间断、安全或无错误运行。
由于你的笔记仅在设备本地加密存储，你确认：如果解锁密码、密保答案与备份口令全部遗失，将导致数据永久、不可逆地无法访问。你亦须自行负责所导出备份文件的保管。
本应用提供的端侧 AI 功能仅作书写辅助：我们不保证其生成内容的准确性、完整性或适用性，你也不应将其视为医疗、法律、财务或其他专业建议。
八、责任限制
在适用法律允许的最大范围内，对于因你使用本应用而引起的任何间接、附带、特殊、后果性或惩罚性损害，或任何利润、数据或使用的损失，即使我们已被告知此类损害的可能性，我们亦不承担责任。
九、协议终止
如果你违反本协议，我们可在不事先通知的情况下暂停或终止你使用本应用的许可。你亦可随时卸载本应用以终止使用。协议终止后，所有本地数据仍保留在你的设备上，直至你主动删除。
十、适用法律
本协议受中华人民共和国法律管辖并依其解释，不考虑法律冲突原则。
十一、协议变更
我们可能会不时更新本协议。修订后的版本将发布在本页面并随下一次应用更新一同提供，同时更新上方的"最近更新"日期。变更后继续使用本应用，即视为接受修订后的协议。
